My Creative Space: Silver pinecone

It's definitely winter. Snow is coming, apparently.

The bitingly cold weather gives me an urge to grab some willow twigs and make a winter wreath with pine cones and things.  I'm also rather obsessed with making nature in miniature at the moment. As it is I have to scrub the kitchen floor and finish some silver fingerprint orders.

I did have time to make a little silver pine cone though. I grabbed three tiny willow twigs from the garden and made a miniature wreath (it's about 7cm in diameter). It's a start anyway.

I love the wreath, the little pinecone is so beautiful. I really like the nature in silver idea at the moment, silver leaves, flowers, acorns... all so pretty! :) x

Beautiful Emma. I love the pinecone, perhaps you could make some little holly leaves? I love your silver work.

Very pretty!

But ignore those weather people - metcheck say it isn't going to snow this far south and they're usually right. That's what I'm banking on, anyway.

We did have a dusting overnight but honestly, if you'd scraped it up from the whole village you'd only have had enough for a small snowball.

The little pine cone is gorgeous! I've got the machine set up to stitch some petals this afternoon but don't hold your breath!

Lovely pine cone Emma! Clever you.

It is very cold isn't it - I love the excuse to wear layer of rich coloured clothes and big boots.

We have a similar vein of creativity, my main love is nature and growing/selling my flowers, but it greatly informs my silversmithing, and your passion is your silver, but you take inspiration from nature! Nature and jewellery - we are so lucky to do what we do!! xx

That is so beautiful and knowing your work I can imagine how intricate it is.

Enjoy the snow - not even a frost here yet, but it is blooming chilly!

Oh Emma, it's beautiful!
The snow doesn't seem to be coming our way. I don't know whether to be relieved or not.

You just can't go wrong with pinecones. Or hellebores. Or seed heads, really.

Okay, everything you make is fab. Period.
